I mess up at the very last second and don’t actually beat the 100th level. Everything was as good as dead. To give credit where credit it due, this is a tweak of Dedendre’s map The quality is a bit bad because Im new to video editing and etc…

It’s the era of flash games, and new games are cropping up almost everyday. A majority of them vanish as fast as they come. A few however, stay back and make an impact. A fewer number go on to become popular. And a rare number assume cult status. One such game, which has become the favorite of every computer user and has assumed cult status in just a few months since its launch is ‘Desktop Tower Defense’. What is more interesting is that the designer of this game, Paul Preece , was a first timer and had no previous experience in designing computer games. The game was first played in July 2007 and in a span of just two months, has become an international phenomenon. It is not surprising then, that this game had itself firmly perched as one of the Webware 100 top 10 entertainment internet applications of 2007.
The game’s cult status can be attributed, amongst other factors, to its simplicity. The game has a set map. The map basically resembles one’s desktop, and hence the name ‘Desktop Tower Defense’. There are several ‘fun factors’ which make a player addicted to the game. The player has to stop a number of enemies, known as creeps, from touching a preset point on the map. The objective is accomplished by building towers in the enemy’s path that hinder the progress of enemy creeps by shooting them or damaging them. These towers can be upgraded to have better and faster capabilities. The objective of the game is accomplished, and the game is won, when all the enemy creeps have been destroyed and thus stopped from reaching the objective point. The other fun factor in the game is that the user is allowed to choose his difficulty level .In case you are stressed out from work and want to de-stress, select the ‘Easy’ mode, sit back and enjoy while the towers do their work with a minimum effort from your side. On the other hand, if you really want to kick some ass, choose the ‘Hard’ or the Medium’ mode and start enjoying. In addition to this, what makes the game even more fun is the inclusion of a great number of challenge modes in the game. If you seek more from the game, you can always download more challenge modes from the internet.
The player of the game, however, has a set number of lives. Also, these lives diminish when a creep breaks his defenses and manages to reach the objective point. When the player loses his last life, the game is over and the player is defeated.
From action and violence to fun filled graphics and great layouts, the game has all. Get your hands on this super flash game today and feel the adrenalin rush. Enjoy!!!

Everyone that plays DtD, knows that Dart Tower can be extremely useful and powerful if used correctly. Now, we all know that it can damage multiple units if they are all junked up together. There is no limit on how many creeps Dart Tower can damage, so if there are 10-20 creeps all junked up together Dart Tower will damage every single one of them. The trick is you gotta place your Dart Tower in a spot in your maze to get maximum use of it. So that when you send lots of waves quick, Dart Tower can basically finish them 1 hit or make it easier for your other towers in finishing them. I will soon put up a simple maze and you will see where I will place my Dart Tower for maximum usage..

Indeed strangely addictive is Desktop Tower Defense flash game. Its basically a fun flash puzzle / strategy game where you have to protect your desktop from invaders by spending money on attacking pieces and building a maze for them to follow. Its up to you how many levels can you survive?Â
Now after playing this I am inspired to make my own defense game! According to me the desktop tower defense game is a little bit slow but interesting just as the defense game from Starcraft/Warcraft. It has generated a lot of buzz and really brought Flash Tower Defense games to the forefront. If you have tried playing Warcraft III on Battle.Net you will find his game very easy. This game is great stress reliever and quite innovative, as I have not seen any other games solely based on this idea. It’s something different and interesting. The graphics are good. A lot of strategy is involved as you can build and upgrade your towers and create mazes to slow down the monsters from getting to the opposite side. There are also different game modes to provide a bigger challenge that is extreme fun.
Â
Although this game provides a variety of towers to be built it involves a lot of thinking, experience and a bit of patience. Its ability to let you compete with other players in getting a high score on a particular level made it a very addictive game. It also comes with many different levels of difficulties including a “Fun Mode†where you can have some fun with tons of money or spawn only specific types of monsters. It also involves a concept called “mazing†where you have to be manipulative with the path of the enemy to your own advantage. No wonder this game is so popular!
Go ahead and play it now on your browser!

I never knew that this information existed on internet, if I knew about all this before I wouldn’t have spent hour writing down detail information about each Towers of Desktop Tower Defense, but here guys, recently I came along this sweet spreadsheet and I must thank Teh_Juggler and other DTD forum members, for creating this amazing guide, I will put them here but you can check out their forums for more detail or to exactly know where this stuff came from, once again I appreciate their work, and here are the spreadsheet for all the towers. It basically tells you everything you need to know about a tower. Great job guys.

I must say Pellet Tower is the backbone of every maze you create in Desktop Tower Defense, but it has come to my attention that hardly anyone cares about upgrading Pellet Tower, I have tried it recently and I must say when it becomes Sniper Tower it basically Pwns anything that goes through, not only that it gets a super crazy long range. It can basically shot from 1 side to the another and if you have one of them in the center then you can watch it kill every single creep in 1 hit. I am not sure if it kills the creep in one hit when it become Sniper Tower or 2-3 hits but I do know that it gets an insane range bonus plus good attack. I recommend you try upgrading them, it is always worth to try different strategies and tricks, you never know some might work and some might not..
